Black Walnut Bakery Café is a true family business success story that first took root in 2011. Born and raised in London, with years of top industry experience both baking and managing, our family team knew it was time to bring those skills and passion to the bakery café scene in London’s Wortley Village. We spent 4 years honing our menu and service standards to become a perennial award winner for our baked goods and customer service. In August of 2015 we grew, opening our Richmond Row location to reach more people with our handcrafted products

Our mission is to provide customers with our from-scratch baked goods and pastries, in-house made savoury meals, and of course, our incredible locally roasted coffee.

Where most others cut corners, compromising the product, Black Walnut Bakery Café stays true to quality by investing in onsite, professional bakers, and employing internationally trained coffee roasters. Our head office in Hyde Park is where we weekly roast our fair trade, organic,  coffee beans from the best coffee growing regions in the world. Roasting our coffee, and following proprietary recipes to perfection, ensure we are the only bakery café in London to offer an entirely from-scratch, in house, handcrafted menu, from baked goods to coffee, using quality ingredients. This unique, quality based concept, and positive team culture provides an extra touch to our friendly customer experience, simultaneously providing swift service for those on the go.

We balance homey feels with modern touches to provide comfortable and relaxing settings to connect with the customers and communities served by Black Walnut Bakery Café on a daily basis.

Heres a few...
I recently went to Black Walnut for coffee and lunch with my 3 year old and we had a great time. The food was great and I can highly recommend the spinach pie and sausage rolls. It was such a great atmosphere that we ended up chatting to a couple of the tables near to us. We will be back - thank you!

We stopped by the Black Walnut Bakery Café to pick up some breakfast on the way out of town. We ordered the quiche, scones and banana nut bread. I will have to say that they were the best I have ever had and the service was also great. I wish I could remember the name of the person that waited on us, but she was very attentive and made sure we had everything we needed on the way out. I highly recommend you stop by if you are looking for some great baked goods.

It is a very cozy cafe with delicious home made pastries and lattes. The patio is nice and the staff is amazing.
